BGC’s plan regarding the CUPE provincial wide protest

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) has announced its intention to launch a province wide political protest tomorrow, Friday, November 4, 2022. This will impact BGC’s ability to deliver the After School Program at several school locations.

If schools are closed for in-person classes on Friday, Nov 4, the After School program will NOT operate either. If you require emergency after school care (2:30-5:30pm) on Friday, Nov 4, 2022, please call our office 613-935-9015 or email staff@bgccornwallsdg.com

If your school is open for in-person learning on Friday, your child’s BGC After School Program location will be open as usual.

If a shift to virtual learning commences on Monday, Nov 7, 2022 we will have After School Program available to ALL BGC members at designated or alternate locations.

Please note if your child’s school is NOT open, transportation to and from the After School program sites is required of parent/guardian.

BGC Teen Programs, as well as programs in Alexandria and Winchester, will continue to operate and follow their current program calendars.

As this situation is evolving and changing daily, BGC will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed of any changes. We expect to make full day recreation programs available next week if schools are not operating.

We understand this a stressful time for families and will continue to support the best we can.
